Why Shelf exists

On August 26, 2026, Greg Isenberg wrote: someone should build GitHub for normies. Millions of people are suddenly able to make software with AI, and they have nowhere that feels like home.

GitHub is a workshop. Shelf is a shop window. You do not fork here. You do not open a pull request. You put the thing you made next to other things people made, and you tell the story in plain language.

This first version keeps your studio in the browser on purpose. The point is the feeling — visual, neighborly, a little analog — not another login wall.

If you built something small and useful this week, it belongs on a shelf.
